Internship Description

This is part of a project dedicated to FWI focused on the reservoir. The project is directed to studying the relation between the physics properties of the reservoir as it relates to wave propagation, and especially respect to the wave optics behavior. The student is expect to sit in my seismic imaging class taught during the spring, as well as do the background study on poroelastic and viscoelastic wave propagation. Using Madagscar (open source package) the student with my help is expected to code up a poroelastic anisotropic modeling program to which in can be used to apply some tests on the effects of porosity on wave propagation. I expect a report at the end of the project. 

Deliverables/Expectations

-  A report outlining a Background study on the relation between the physics of elastic anisotropy and fracturing, pressure and probably fluid flow.
-  A poroelastic anisotropic modeling program.​
